Our first glimpse inside the We Craft Box.
Everything that we received in our “Outer Space” themed box. We couldn’t wait to get into this one because the crafts looked like they’d be so much fun!
So what is all this stuff?
Our box insert. This explains how to complete each craft. The outer page has a cute poem about Zork who’s lost in outer space!
This month’s craft(s) is a glow in the dark diorama.
This silly putty will be used to create Zork – our alien. There is 2 of everything included in this box which is awesome for siblings!
This paint will be used on our spaceship, planets and sky!
This paper along with our empty We Craft Box will be used to complete our sky.
This poster tac will hold our spaceships together and also adhere the paper for the sky onto our We Craft Box.
These 4 styrofoam bowls will be used to create our 2 spaceships
We received 2 kinds of circular stickers, both of which will be used to decorate our spaceship.
These stickers will adorn our sky!
We didn’t realize when we were taking the photos that we’d not only be using the googley eyes but also the condiment cups on our space man and space ship.
We’ll be using these straws to do splatter paint on our sky scene!
We’ll be painting these clear ornaments and turning them into planets.
We’ll use these pipe cleaners to hang our planets on our sky scene.
We will also be using these toothbrushes to paint and see what cool effects we can create.
This pencil was included to use with our putty. You can transfer your drawings from the putty to paper.
There was one paint brush included with the paint but for 2 people to be crafting all at once you need two right? Right!
Okay so now what?
Now WE CRAFT!
First we gather all the materials we need to create our spaceship!
Using our poster tac we stick the two bowls together forming our spaceship.
Then we decorate it with stickers
Next we put our condiment cup on the top to create our cockpit.
The part that our kids couldn’t wait for was playing with the Silly Putty. This was the BULK of our crafting time!
Vivienne’s alien in the cockpit.
Our final step in this craft is to paint our spaceship. Our kids love painting (and because it’s so messy we honestly don’t do it often enough) so they relished this opportunity.
We then gathered all the materials for our sky scene while our space ships dried.
Our first step is to adhere the paper to the back of the box.
We then add some star stickers and continue by using our straws to create splat paintings.
And to be super EXTRA you can use your toothbrush to really pack lots of glow in the dark action on!
Our final craft is to paint our planets.
This worked out to be the perfect amount of time to spend on a project … because at this point they just began to lose interest.
Our completed scene. We have to say this is one of the coolest crafts we’ve ever done with the little ones!
So in summary
We look for three things in a subscription box; quality, curation and presentation. The We Craft Box is a great way to spend time with your kids without the hassle of figuring out what to do! The presentation is great, everything arrives perfectly. The quality is awesome. Everything works together perfectly and comes together just as it should. And the addition of a second set of materials is awesome! Curation for this box was adorable! This space theme appeals to both boys as well as girls and the different activities keep kids engaged and happy. Add all that to the fact that we end up with a really great finished product and we’re sold! Great month from We Craft Box!
