THE SPICE MESSENGER October 2020 “Bada Bagh, Rajasthan – Chicken Pasanda with Lemon Rice” Review:
Verdict:
I really love the food travel subscription boxes; each box is like a mini vacation to a new part of the world. Spice Messenger October 2020 brought me to Northern India, and my house was filled with the smells of rich spices and curries. The card inside the package gives a glimpse into the world you are about taste and quickly tells where the the food is from and what is in it. The meals were quite easy to make using a lot of ingredients that I already had in my house. A few items had to be bought from the local grocery store, but they were small in size and not very expensive (Cashews, lemon, Greek yogurt). As long as the grocery list doesn’t become too long, or requiring items not common at your local Canadian grocery store, the average person will find that each meal is easy and enjoyable to make. I really like that the spices are pre-measured and ready to go, and that these spices are not on the grocery list. If the spice of the month doesn’t suit your taste, at least you didn’t buy a full container of it! That said, the ever changing monthly spices is what really draws me to this subscription box; I love to taste new things that I otherwise would never have known about. I love that this box opens up not only new tastes and flavors, but opens up new cultures. It is said that the best way to understand another’s culture is to break bread with them! I highly recommend this box for the foodies and travel bugs in your life.
