Subscription Box Review
My first glimpse inside the Misfits Market Box for June. It’s important to note that all the packaging materials used are recyclable or biodegradable.
Okay so what is all this stuff?
First we have a bunch of cilantro. I use this in sauces, marinades and of course our Pico de Gallo for Taco Tuesday!
Next up I chose pickling cucumbers for my box this week. These were really close to being bad but I salvaged what I could and pickled them immediately. My husband and I are known amongst our circle of friends for being extremely utilitarian with food – using everything.
Whenever something comes up that I haven’t tried I always go for it. Why not? It sharpens my tools and forces us to create foods that I may otherwise not know I love! This right here his a bunch of HUGE Romanescu Leaves! How pretty!
Next up are these two bunches of Romaine Lettuce. Great for salads or sandwiches, I’ll have no problem using this up!
I also chose a butternut squash for my box. This is a small one but my kids won’t be home for the next two weeks (thanks Grandma) so it will be cooking for two for me!
Inside my box I also received four yellow peaches. These will definitely be something the kids will enjoy and it’s that time of the year when peaches are in season.
There are four green bell peppers in my box too. These are so versatile which is why I always select them if they are available.
I also selected two grapefruits. These are for me and only me! I love having a half a grapefruit for breakfast along with some cottage cheese.
Another item I will mostly use from my box for the week is this head of purple cabbage. Great for salads and for pickling this will definitely be something I use for my lunches!
Another fruit from my package for the week are these two mangoes. Fruit is a snack that my kids can have whenever they want in my house. And mangoes provide a good stray from the ordinary. The kids are sure to love these.
There were also four green apples included in my box. I know most people use these for baking but most likely my kids will be eating these either with their lunches or for snacks.
Purple onions are my favorite! There were two in my box and we’ll use these on sandwiches and in salads. Mostly raw is the way to go with these babies!
The final item in my box for this month is six limes. Another great item to have on hand for sauces, dressings and marinades. My kids also love to eat them just so too!
So in summary
Presentation: Everything came in pretty good shape except for those pickling cucumbers and I appreciate the Earth friendly packaging
Quality: I love that the produce is organic as well as non gmo.
Curation: Since I selected all the items in this box I’d say the curation is pretty phenomenal!
