Misfits Market is a weekly or bi-weekly ugly produce subscription box. Misfits rescues organic produce from small farms that wouldn’t typically make it to sale. The varieties change seasonally and currently Misfits Market only delivers to PA, NJ, NY, NH, CT, DE, MA, VT, RI, ME, OH, WV, WDC, VA, MD but you can join their waiting list and find out when they expand (it’s happening pretty darn quickly). Choose from two different boxes, the Mischief which contains 8-10 pounds for $19 or the Madness (what we receive) that contains 18-20 pounds for $34. Shipping rates apply – they are calculated at checkout. Get 25% OFF your next box when you sign up using our referral link. NAT pays for this subscription.

Everything that we received in our Misfits Market Box for this week. There is so much in here and it’s so colorful and pretty!
So what is all this stuff?
First we have two pints of blueberries. The kids love these and this is the perfect time of year for them. We’ll probably put these in some pancakes or waffles for the kiddos!
Rainbow Chard is one of our personal favorites. We love to enjoy this sauteed in a pan with a little bit of olive oil, garlic and onion!
Ahh Fibonacci at it’s finest! We received 2 heads of Romanescu. If you’ve never had this odd looking vegetable it’s similar to broccoli or cauliflower in flavor and texture.
Next is eggplant. We received two this week. One is a bit dented but isn’t really bruised so we’ll try to use it quickly. We shake it up with eggplant. Sometimes we bread and fry it and other times with roast it with tomatoes.
Next up are four potatoes. Obviously we’ll be cooking these. We usually mash them but sometimes we cube them and make them really cheesy for the kids (we rarely eat potatoes).
Green Onions are so delicious in almost anything and add such a beautiful pop of flavor. We received two bunches in this weeks box and we’ll most likely be using them in our eggs in the morning!
Next we have three tomatoes. These are beautiful and ripe and we aren’t sure just what we’ll be using them in (we use tomatoes in so many dishes) but they will certainly be used.
The husband is going to be THRILLED. Here we have three jalapeno peppers which he will no doubtedly chop up and eat with his tacos next Tuesday!
We also received 3 heads of jumbo garlic. We always have tons of garlic on hand because honestly… you can’t have too much! We noticed the organic time goes much quicker than the stuff we get at Costco so we’re always sure to use this first!
There were three greens sent out this week; frisee, escarole and lettuce … we aren’t quite sure which one this is. We aren’t big fans of escarole so we are hoping it’s one of the other two. Cross your fingers kids.
Tommy Atkins and Kent Mangoes were both available in this week’s Misfits Market package. We received 3 mangoes – 2 of 1 and 1 of the other. The kids love these – we’ll be cutting them up and serving them with lunches.
There were also six limes in our package. We use limes in our Pico de Gallo we make for our tacos each Tuesday (if the kids don’t eat them all first).
We received 5 zuchinni. One wasn’t pictures because we forgot about it. These are delicious in a foil packet with garlic and butter and put on the grill. Our husband makes them the best!
The final item in this week’s Misfits Market package are two very large English Cucumbers. These are perfect either in a salad or cut up and eaten as a snack!
So in summary
Presentation: Everything arrived perfectly and was packaged well in our box from Misfits Market for the week.
Quality: Initially with a box like this you think you are going to get beat up or rotten veggies but that just isn’t the case. Everything that we receive from Misfits Market is absolutely amazing.
Curation: Our selections are always really varied and kind of force us to come up with new and fun recipes which is amazing as we love a good amount of variety with our dishes!
