Here’s the Box Breakdown
Our first glimpse inside the Misfits Market Box.
All the veggies that we received. This box was so full it was impossible to photograph all the food!
So what is all this stuff?
Our box insert. This tells us where we can find the menu for the week. The entire menu contained 40 items of which we received 13 different kinds of fruits and vegetables. The Madness Box is said to have more variety than the Mischief Box.
We received 6 oranges and you can see why these would fall into the “ugly” category, however they are still delicious!
We received 4 star fruits. We had never tried these before and were surprised how much they tasted like apples. These looked absolutely normal by the way – albeit a little under ripe.
We received 4 mangoes as well. We were surprised with the amount of fruit that we received in this box. These looked fine but were a little under-ripe.
We are so used to dark green kale that this bunch threw us for a loop! We love kale sausage soup and think we will be making that with this!
We received 2 of these large peppers. We had never heard of them before but after looking them up we found that they are similar in flavor to Poblano peppers! These look perfectly fine, not ugly at all!
We also received 4 limes. These will be great for Taco Tuesday!
We received 4 green bell peppers. These are so versatile and we are so excited to have received them!
We received 2 HUGE onions. We love that we received some root vegetables that keep for a while because there was SO MUCH food!
We love grapefruit and never buy it for ourselves because it seems like a frivolous thing. We are super pumped to have gotten these 2 in our box.
We aren’t huge fans of celery but it’s versatile and keeps forever – so we’ll be using this in an upcoming soup or stir fry. Actually, with this amount we’re sure we’ll be using it in much more than that!
2 beets which are great because they’ll keep for a long time! We love beets in a glazed sauce or roasted with butter!
The final item in our first Misfits Market Box are these 4 zucchini’s! For our family of 6 this is plenty of vegetables for well over a week! We subscribed for the bi-weekly plan and we are super excited to receive our next box!
So in summary
Presentation: Everything in our package was carefully placed and arrived to us perfectly
Quality: We think the quality is awesome – we know from the start that the food will have imperfections and that’s perfectly ok with us!
Curation: Everything that we received is selected seasonally which is great and we felt like the variety was awesome. Definitely no regrets with this subscription box
