Gramma in a Box is a monthly children’s subscription box. This box was created by a long distance grandmother who would send these kits to her grandchildren and then they’d complete the crafts in each box over Skype! Each package is themed and includes everything you’ll need to create 3 candy and cookie crafts (15-20 pieces). Boxes are $20 each and if you subscribe you’ll get your first box for just $10. NAT received this package at no cost for review purposes.

My first glimpse inside the Gramma in a Box for May.
Everything that came in my May “Butterflies & Blossoms” themed box.
So what is all this stuff?
My box insert. This tells us a bit more about this months theme and also lists each of the items included in this box.
There’s also a card for each of the projects that we’ll be doing this month.
Every box from Gramma in a Box comes with two sheets of parchment paper to complete your crafts on and to let the set on. This makes cleanup a snap!
These six lollipop sticks will be used in our second project where we’ll be creating Marshmallow Flower Pops
Every box also comes with a different color melting chocolate. This is usually used in your first and second projects. This month it’s a pretty purple color!
Every box also comes with a total of eight cookies used in our third cookie decorating project. There are typically 4 large cookies and 4 small. Our four large cookies for the month came in a house shape.
As well as this fun butterfly shaped cookie!
This bag of pretzels includes both mini pretzels and pretzel sticks. These will be used in our first project where we’ll be completing pretzel butterflies.
Our smaller cookies for the month are all flower shaped. There are four in total.
There’s always a vast assortment of sprinkles in our boxes from Gramma. The first for this month are these multi colored non pareils.
These rainbow sprinkles have shapes as well as sugar crystals and are probably the most fun sprinkles I have ever seen!
There there are these multi colored mini marshmallows that we’ll use in our Marshmallow Flower Pop project.
We also have these purple sugar crystals.
And some blue sugar crystals as well.
And finally, each box from Gramma includes three different colored frostings. It seems apt that our frosting for the month matches the sugar crystals that we received. As you can see there’s blue, purple and pink.
Okay so now what?
Now we craft!
First I gather everything that we’ll need for our first project – Pretzel Butterflies. For this we’ll need our bag of pretzels, the multi colored sprinkles and the melting chocolate.
We unbag our pretzels and melt our melting chocolate.
Then working quickly we’ll dip the bottom loop of two of the mini pretzels in chocolate and lay them next to a pretzel stick to create our little butterflies. (the kids thought these looked a bit more like dragonflies).
This was a simple project and the kids had a lot of fun completing it.
The final step is to top them with the sprinkles!
Then for our second project in addition to the remaining melting chocolate we’ll also need the lollipop sticks and the mini marshmallows.
First for this project we’ll but a little dollop of the melting chocolate down on our parchment paper and then lay a lollipop stick within it.
Then we’ll place five of the mini marshmallows around the chocolate as petals and one in the center forming a flower.
Finally we gather everything that we need for our third and final project, cookie decorating. For this we’ll need the frosting, sprinkles and of course, can’t forget the cookies!
Um guys, not to toot my own horn but I decorated this one all by myself!
I allow my kid to use these cookies to really test their creativity. It’s fun and a little messy and a great way to have fun!
My younger kiddos tend to layer up icing like there’s no tomorrow… which is a kid thing to do!
While my olders out here making some fantastical creations.

Annnnd there’s our completed projects for the month. This isn’t the prettiest picture but they didn’t last long enough to plate them appropriately!
So in summary
Presentation: Everything was packaged well and arrived to me perfectly in my box from Gramma in a Box.
Quality: The crafts that are sent each month are always excellent. They’re not super long and they are great for young children because the instructions are so simple.
Curation: I am always impressed with the selection of sprinkles that’s included in each box. This one had some really fun ones too!
