Our first glimpse inside the July Gramma in a Box package.

subscription boxes for kids

Everything that we received in our July package from Gramma in a Box. The themes are always really cute but this month is really lots of fun! Everything that is included is bright and patriotic.

Our box insert. This tells us the theme of the box for the month.

And the reverse lists each of the items that was included in this box.

We also receive detailed instructions for completing each of the three crafts that we received.

Every package from Gramma in a Box comes with 3 fun frosting colors. We’ll be using these in our cookie decorating craft. This is always the third project in the box each month.

We also receive a different colored melting chocolate in our packages. This month we have this fun white chocolate with colorful sprinkles. This will be used in both our first Sparkler Pretzel Rods craft as well as our second Golden Peanut Bites craft.

These wheat pretzel rods will be used in our Sparkler Pretzel Rod craft.

Every package from Gramma in a Box inclues 8 cookies, typically they are sugar cookies. They always come in a fun shape that suits the theme of the box. Our first four are star shaped, there are 2 large as well as 2 small cookies.

Our second set of four cookies includes large rectangles to create flags as well as 2 small emblem shaped cookies.

These red, white and blue pareils will be used to coat our Sparkler Pretzel Rods in our first craft.

These red sugar crystals will be used in our third and final craft in our July Gramma in a Box package – Patriotic Cookie Decorating.

These dry roasted peanuts will be used in our second project where we make Golden Peanut Bites!

These cute star shaped sprinkles will be used to top our golden peanut bites in our second project.

These pretzel squares will be placed at the base of each of our golden peanut bites in our second project.

These fun red, white and blue Jimmies will be used in our Patriotic Cookie Decorating craft (if the kids don’t eat them all first)!

We receive 6 mini cupcake liners to use in our Golden Peanut Bites project. These make them really convenient to hold.

The final item in our July Gramma in a Box package are our two pieces of parchment paper. These are perfect for these projects. They make both creating and cleaning up our project so easy and they allow the cookies and candies to dry without sticking!

Okay so now what?

First we gather together each of the items we’ll need to create our Sparkler Pretzel Rods.

For this one we’ll need our non pareils, pretzel rods and melting chocolate.

Our first task is to melt our chocolate so we can dip our pretzels into it. Then we’ll put the sprinkles onto a paper plate to roll our pretzels in

Now you’ll dip each pretzel into the melting chocolate followed quickly by twirling them in the sprinkles. Here are our finished Sparkler Pretzel Rods.

For our second project we’ll be creating Golden Peanut Bites. To complete this craft we’ll be using the liners, the pretzel squares, the star sprinkles, peanutes and the remaining melting chocolate. Our first task is to mix the remaining melting chocolate and the peanuts. We’ll then place a pretzel square at the bottom of each cupcake liner.

Place a dollop of the peanut chocolate mixture on each pretzel and then top with some of your cute little stars for a sweet treat!

Our final project for this box is Patriotic Cookie Decorating. This is the one that we really let the kids use their imaginations with! For this we’ll need our frosting, cookies and any remaining sprinkles. After kneading the frosting and cutting the tips of the pastry bags we just sit back and enjoy the smiles.

The kids had a lot of fun. While the little kiddos enjoyed squirting as much frosting as they could everywhere, the older kids gave it their all coming up with cool flag designs as well as star designs.

These are two of our favorite cookies that the kids decorated. The star almost reminds us of a starfish!

Here is our finished Gramma in a Box creations. These crafts took a total of about 20 minutes – each was easy to follow and simple for the kids to complete. Couple that with easy cleanup and not having to guess what you’ll be eating for snack time and you have a winner!

So in summary

Presentation: Everything arrived to us well and was well packaged in our Gramma in a Box for July. We always love how simple the instructions are and how easy it is for even the littlest of the kids to follow along!

Quality: We don’t know where they find all the unique sprinkles that they include but we are always impressed with the variety that’s included in the Gramma in a Box packages.

Curation: Everything in the July Gramma in a Box package was perfect! This theme was so cool and was executed excellently. The kids had a great time and they all enjoyed trying each of the creations that they made in this box. We think this subscription is a great way to connect with family that’s far away and allows families to have hands on bonding time together that won’t break the bank!
