Our first glimpse inside the Gramma in a Box for September.

what's in gramma in a box

Everything that we received in our September, “Back to School” themed box. This is probably the cutest collection yet!

So what is all this stuff?

Our box inserts, this explains the theme for the month and lists each of the items included in the box.

Each of our recipes for the month. These are easy enough that they take just a couple minutes to create but engaging and cute enough to capture and keep kids attentions!

The melting chocolate will be used in both our pencil candy and our marshmallow apple recipe.

These wafer cookies will be used to create our pencils.

These tiny rainbow pareils will be used to decorate our cookies.

We received 6 total cookies. 2 letter A, 2 letter B and 2 letter C’s!

These have a total School House Rock vibe!

The blue sugar will be used to decorate our cookies.

The red sugar will be used for the erasers on our pencils and to coat our marshmallow “apples”.

These sprinkles are another decoration for our alphabet cookies.

These chocolate chips will serve as the tips of our pencils.

This little container contains pretzel stick pieces that will be used as the stems of our apples and little leaves that we’ll also use on our apples.

This stick will be used to roll our marshmallows in chocolate and red sugar.

Each box from Gramma in a Box contains a couple of sheets of parchment paper. This way our snacks won’t stick to it as they set.

This month’s icing came in the 3 primary colors, perfect colors for a back to school themed box!

And of course marshmallows for our apple treat!

Okay, so now what?

First we gather everything we need for our wafer pencils – the melting chocolate, the wafer cookies, chocolate chips and red sugar.

We add our red sugar to a bowl.

Then we’ll melt the chocolate until it’s a thin consistency. At this point you’ll dip the square end of the wafer in the chocolate and then quickly dip it in the red sugar. After this step you’ll dip the tip in the chocolate and then add a chocolate chip.

You’ll end up with something like this.

Next we gather up everything we need for the “Teacher’s Apples” project. You’ll need the remaining red sugar and melting chocolate as well as the pretzel sticks and leaves and of course… marshmallows.

This was such a simple and cute project. Insert the stick into the marshmallow and then dip in the chocolate. Then dip it in the red sugar. Afterwards remove your stick and add a pretzel stick and leaf to decorate.

Our final activity is the cookie decorating… we allow the kids to go to town with these and do whatever they’d like.

These came our really cute!

Here are all of our finished goodies… we assure you that they didn’t last long!

So in summary

Presentation: Everything arrives perfect! We love that they put a use by date so we know how long we have before we have to use this.

Quality: All the items are fresh and we love the cookies – they are delicious!

Curation: This box has been our favorite so far, the crafts were cute and seasonal!
