Here’s the Box Breakdown
Our first glimpse inside the Dotboxx.
Everything that we received in our Dotboxx for May. This box is a surprise but when you subscribe you’ll get to select your preferred feminine hygiene products. We always love these boxes and how everything is grouped together. The bag at the top is our optional extras and just below that is our snacks. The theme for this box is “Let’s Face it Together” and included an assortment of skincare items. You guys can only guess how pumped we were for that!
So what is all this stuff?
There are 10 pads in our Dotboxx. You choose upon subscribing from Kotex, Tampax and Always brands as well as your absorbency. You’ll also select whether you want just pads, just tampons or a mix of both. We received a mix of both pads and tampons.
Additionally there were also 10 tampons. We received a mix a mix of regular and super absorbency.
Neutrogena Makeup Removing Wipes
These Micellar Cleansing Towelettes come in handy when you are on the go or need to do a quick makeup fix. There are a total of 25 in this packet – great inclusion as we can always use some of these!
Fruit of the Earth Vitamin E Skin Care Cream
This 4 ounce jar not only moisturizes but also soothes and protects skin. Perfect for after sun exposure and other extreme elements. We actually just had a bit too much sun so this will be perfect for us!
This is one of the coolest (and most useful items) we’ve ever received in a subscription.
This little dish is made to look like marble and is intended to be used to mix your powdered face masks! How awesome is this to have?! We do a powdered mask routine once a week so we’ll be getting a lot of use out of this!
Pain reliever is part of the “Optional Extras” that Dotboxx offers. We received 3 packets in total – 2 Advil and 1 Excedrin. Can we just say YES! We love when time of the month boxes send pain reliever that ISN’T Midol because the others are so much more versatile!
Another inclusion in the optional pack is 3 panty liners.
And yet another of the optional items. Therma-Care heating pad, we’ve been known to put these all over our body when need be.. not just our tummies!
Also included in the optional packet are 2 bags of Women’s Moon Cycle tea from Yogi Tea. These are great to have on hand!
And the final item in our optional packet are these 2 wipes from Summer’s Eve in the “Simply Sensitive” variety.
This bag is so cool – it contains an assortment of different masks and other items to use during your skincare routine.
The first is The Texas Gypsy’s Charcoal Face Mask. Great for breakouts caused by hormones or the environment and perfect for all skin types!
Next we have a Rejuvenating Facial Steamer from Fecund. This mixture of cedarwood, rose, peppermint, comfrey and dandelion leaf open your pores and let all the healing properties in. Great for getting out toxins and for use directly before your skincare routine!
Next we have the Green Clay Mask also from The Texas Gypsy. Green French Clay works best on normal to oily skin and it’s high amount of minerals like; calcium, aluminum and magnesium help to rid your skin of impurities.
A paintbrush to apply your mask (excellent idea)!
This Ali Rose Art Headband will keep your hair from your eyes and out of your mask while you are waiting for it to dry. We think this is super pretty and love the floral pattern.
Can’t forget your lips. This lip balm from Hopeful Lip Balm is mango flavored!
Our final mask is from Lenora. This Cocoa Coconut Facial Polish is created with raw, organic cacao powder full of antioxidants and vitamin c. The coconut milk used in this has anti-inflammatory properties. And the rosehip within this mixture stimulates collagen production in your skin. This is the mask we are most excited to use!
These Skin Detox tea bags were also included. Exciting to know that these exist, we had never heard of them before!
The first item from our snack package is this Enjoy Life Seed & Fruit mixture. This is a new to us brand and we thought this was delicious (we shared it with the kids because we’re super nice).
Dove Dark Chocolate Covered Cherries
Cannot go wrong with chocolate for period cravings, amirite?
Salted Caramel Brownie Brittle
We try not to eat too much sugar but we love this stuff. It didn’t last long at all! In fact we ate it as soon as we took the picture!
Emmy’s Organic Chocolate Chip Cookie
We love Emmy’s Organic. These raw, organic snacks are a tasty treat that’s also good for you. We’ve been fans of theirs for a long time and are glad to have received this in our box!
The final item in our Dotboxx for May are these dried apple sticks from Snack Factory. These are a lot like dried apples but they are julienne style. These didn’t last long either and we didn’t share!
So in summary
We look for three things in a subscription box; quality, curation and presentation. The Dotboxx is our favorite period subscription because it combines essential items for women with fun self care and really promotes a positive self image! The presentation is great, everything arrives perfectly. The quality is amazing. They source most of their self care items from smaller lesser known brands – which we totally support. And curation is phenomenal. We are obsessed with the “facial in a bag” and thought it was like a mystery box inside a mystery box which could quite possibly be our favorite kind of box ever. Well done by them. As far as value we think this box speaks for itself – absolutely awesome!
