Subscription Box Unboxing
Subscription Box Review
Our first glimpse inside the Boxycharm package for July. The theme for this month is “Au Naturale” and really has nothing to do with the items that we received (a common thing with beauty subscription boxes).
Everything that we received in our July Boxycharm package. There’s a couple really great items in here but we have to be honest and say that most of the items are kind of just eh for us.
So what is all this stuff?
Our box insert. The front tells us the theme of this box.
The reverse lists each of the items that we received along with their retail prices.
Luna by Luna Lipgloss in Venus
$18
The first item in our July Boxycharm is this Luna by Luna Lipgloss in “Venus”. The packaging on this is pretty but the color just isn’t blowing our hair back if you know what we mean.
If you look closely you’ll see that this does have a bit of yellow irridescent shimmer that seemed promising.
However it really didn’t translate when swatched – it was really glossy though. All in all it isn’t really special but it smells great (like chocolate cake) and has a really nice applicator.
Luxie Gaea 3 Piece Brush Set
$30
Next we have a 3 piece brush set from Luxie. This is a welcome inclusion as far as we’re concerned and we love the pink wood toned handles with duo chrome, rose gold feruls. Even the bristles are a really pretty off white.
The first brush is a flat foundation brush (Luxie 510)
The second is a large blending blush for your eye (Luxie 250)
The last brush is the Luxie 246 that allows you to precisely get into your crease area.
Butter London Natural Goddess Eye Shadow Palette
$32
Next, we have a pretty palette from Butter London. These shadows are cruelty free and we have to say that we love the packaging – it totally makes us feel like a Natural Goddess.
This palette has 6 shades – 2 of which are matte and the rest that are shimmers. We do love the color story here and think this could work to create a variety of different looks! This does also have a mirror on the inside which is a nice touch.
Elemis Superfood Vital Veggie Mask
$35
Second to last we have a skincare item from Elemis. This is a brand we don’t have much experience with but has been popping up in subscription boxes all over the place lately. This is a full sized 2.5 ounce tube that contains lots of greens to nourish and hydrate the skin. We feel like we’ve been overdoing the skincare lately so we’re going to put this into an upcoming giveaway we are planning.
Koh Gen Do Spa Cleansing Water Cloths
$17
This is where Boxy lost us this month. $17 makeup wipes… that’s kinda crazy dudes. These claim to contain mineral rich spa water that removes makeup including waterproof makeup. These don’t have much of a smell and there are 10 wipes included in those. (That’s over $1 a wipe).
So in summary
Presentation: Everything was packaged well and arrived to us perfectly in our July Boxycharm package.
Quality: The brands that were included were all high quality and the products are all very nice.
Curation: I hate to be the bearer of bad words about Boxy because I do love their boxes but this one is the FIRST that just didn’t hit the mark for me. The face wipes, while I’ll use them are not what I imagine receiving in these boxes and the Elemis product was just an eh from me.
Box Economy: For the price of this box ($21) we received $132 in products which is a fantastic deal for the price of this box
