My first glimpse inside the Gramma in a Box for August.
Everything that came in my August Beach Treats themed box.
So what is all this stuff?
My box insert.
There’s also a card that tells us about this month’s box as well as a card for each of this month’s projects.
Each box from Gramma in a Box comes with two pieces of parchment paper. This makes cleanup and setup super simple.
Every box from Gramma also comes with three tubes of frosting. Each month there are three different colors. This month we received pastel blue, yellow and coral.
Every box from Gramma also includes a container of melting chocolate in a different color. This month there’s a mixture of white, blue and green. This will be used in both our first and second project.
This graham dust will be used in our first project – Baby Shark Pops.
This package of Vanilla Wafers will be used in our Clams with Pearls project.
These six marshmallows will be used in our Baby Shark Pops project as well.
This little container of Goldfish will also be used in our Baby Shark Pops project.
These blue sugar crystals will be used in our Sea Life Cookie Decorating project.
This container contains a mix of white balls and small eyes. These will be used as pearls and eyes for the clams in our second Clams with Pearls project.
Every box from Gramma comes with eight sugar cookies. This package contains two stars and two clamshells.
These six popsicle sticks will be used in our Baby Shark Pops project.
I love these multi colored sugar crystals, they remind me of sea glass! These will be used in our Cookie Decorating project.
Our other four cookies for this month are all fish shaped. Cute!
These white pareils will be used to create a bubble effect in our Clams with Pearls project.
Finally there are these coral colored sugar crystals that will be used in our cookie decorating project.
Okay so now what?
Now we get to the fun stuff!
First I gather together everything that we’ll need for the first project: the sticks, marshmallows, graham dust, melting chocolate and goldfish.
Then we heat up the chocolate and start by dipping each popsicle stick into it.
Now you’ll push the sticks into the flat end of each marshmallow.
Then you’ll coat the bottom of each marshmallow in the melting chocolate and then dip into the graham dust. You’ll finish it off by adding a couple Goldfish!
This was a lot of fun for the kids.
And I think that this project came out really cute!
Now we gather together everything we will need for the second project: the remaining melting chocolate, container of pearls and eyes, white pareils and vanilla wafers.
Somehow I forget to photograph these coming together. But you basically just add a dollop of the chocolate to the flat side of two cookies and then stick them together. Then you’ll place a “pearl” between them. Finish it off by adding eyes to the top and some pareils for a bubble effect. Another very cute project if you ask me!
Finally we gather everything we need for the cookie decorating project; cookies, frosting and any remaining sprinkles. This project is the one where I just let the kids let their ideas flourish!
This is one of Penny’s creations.
All the kids really had a great time decorating.
Check out these! How cool are they?
And… this is Olivers cookie.
Here are all of our completed candy and cookie crafts. This was a cute month!
So in summary
Presentation: Everything was packaged well and arrived to me perfectly in my box from Gramma for the month
Quality: I always love to see the different assortments of sprinkles that she comes up with, always such good quality
Curation: This mix of projects was perfect for different aged kids and they were simple as well as fun. The best part is they get a sweet treat afterwards!
